Cheryl Keller Kolf
MSMHC MEd, LPC
Cheryl started her journey towards becoming a licensed professional counselor after being employed as a special education teacher working with children and adolescents with intellectual and learning problems, attention deficit disorder and autism. As her student’s needs became more complex, she went to the University of St. Thomas for her master certification in autism spectrum disorders and later to Viterbo University to earn master’s degrees in both education and in mental health counseling. Cheryl has established her practice by helping children and adults deal with life’s challenges and disappointments.
Cheryl’s focus has been working with individuals on the autism spectrum. In addition she works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing transitions, major depression, anxiety, and bipolar. Cheryl uses a person-centered, strength-based approach and incorporates cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, focused mindfulness processing, narrative and wellness techniques into her counseling sessions.
Cheryl values her faith and family and takes time for both daily. She enjoys reading, gardening, spending time in nature, and gatherings with family and friends.
